Design blogs are a lot like gelato: ubiquitous and addictive. My guilty pleasure. Just when I think I’ve read every one that’s worth reading — tasted every flavor — I stumble upon a link to an even more fabulous blog. It’s a procrastinator’s dream. There are two that I read religiously: DesignSponge and DesiretoInspire. If I’m lying in bed at night and realize I didn’t check them that day, I get up, turn my computer back on and scour the sites. DesignSponge is a mixed bag: DIY projects, city guides, before and afters, home tours and my favorite new column called “Living In,” where the author takes a cool/quirky/over-the-top movie and finds home décor (available for purchase) that’s reminiscent of it. DesiretoInspire is, as the name suggests, pure inspiration: lots of beautiful photos of homes from around the world. But this is just the tip of the design blog gelato scoop; stay tuned to this blog to for more from the design blogosphere. There’s plenty to go around.
