Canyon Ranch Living architect Bernardo Fort-Brescia recently hosted local journalists for a tour of the property and an organic five-course dinner prepared by executive chefs Scott Uehlein and Elizabeth Barlow.

The property, located at 6801 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach, has become a clever sustainable reuse (of the original structure) and rebuild of the historic Carillon Hotel, with the original signage recreated and attached to the top of the building. Consisting of 580 condominium residences of which 150 are one- or two-bedroom hotel suites for purchase (they can also be rented out), this property and its 750 feet of white sand beaches is drop-dead gorgeous. Visitors and newcomers to the Canyon Ranch Lifestyle can check into a hotel room to have the experience. Devotees and wellness aficionados can purchase a one-, two- or three-bedroom condominium or combine units on the penthouse floor into larger residences as well.

The Canyon Ranch Living concept goes well beyond real estate. It lies within the Canyon Ranch philosophy of healthy living and wellness. Visiting or owning at Canyon Ranch is aimed at allowing body, mind and spirit to experience all aspects of health and wellness. With a spa spanning more than 70,000 square feet (about five times larger than a typical hotel spa according to  Fort-Brescia), there is the Aquavana, complete with hot and cold rooms and tubs and more than 60 fitness classes per day — including (but not limited to) yoga, pilates, men’s and women’s stretching, beach walks, boxers workout, youth fitness, rock wall boot camp, gyrokinesis, meditation and breathing, and even lunch with a nutritionist and educational programs.

This is the only Canyon Ranch Living Hotel and Spa property located on the ocean and this feature makes this Canyon Ranch property the best yet in this writer’s opinion. Unit prices start at $300,000 for a one-bedroom with 720 square feet, $475,000 for a two-bedroom with 1,000 square feet, and $1,500,000 for a three-bedroom with 2,000 square feet.
